Esmeralda did the alterations for my bridal gown and my wedding after party dress. She was so kind and respectful, and could not be a better tailor! My gown was pretty complicated in construction but she handled it so well. I had cups, hems, custom linings, and some boning work to do on the dresses. Her prices are reasonable, and her turn around times are quick. Absolutely love Tailoring by Esmerelda! I've had three clothing items tailored on three separate occasions, and I've been thoroughly pleased with the result each time. 

The turnaround time is very reasonable, as is the pricing. I also love the fact that house calls are an option, but the studio is also very conveniently located and cute.

It sounds as though this business is amazing, but in all honestly, I sent an inquiry for information and a quote via the website days ago and also through the contact number provided, I never heard back from this business. I recently had some dress pants altered by Esmeralda (shortened leg length;  new hem). I found her business after searching for a tailor on Yelp and was impressed by the raving reviews and by the option for in-home sizing appointments. I decided to have the sizing done in her store, which is very conveniently located in Old Town Alexandria. There was plenty of nearby street parking when I went at 10:00 on a Wednesday and I parked on the next block (I believe the street parking was free). The interior of the shop is bright and clean. She quickly took and marked the measurements on the pants and told me that the pants could be delivered to my home on Saturday morning. Her delivery person dropped the pants off around 9:30 am on Saturday. The length of the pants is now perfect. I was impressed by the quality of the work, the quick turnaround time, the great customer service, the ease of booking an appointment, and the cost ($20). Esmeralda did an amazing job on my bridesmaid dress!! I felt so confident standing up in my best friend's wedding!! I reached out to her for a quote via Yelp and she was very responsive. I inquired about pricing and she provided it up front and I thought it was very reasonable. I scheduled my appointment soon thereafter! 

Tailoring by Esmeralda makes house visits so you don't even have to drive anywhere. It is nice because you can try on your clothing from the comfort of your own home. I really liked that! She was very professional and extremely respectful of our home. Also a very pleasant person to talk to!! 

I had my dress taken in on the sides, the straps shortened, and two layers hemmed. I was very pleased with her work!! Her turn around time was quick and before she left with my dress she provided me an estimate of when I would get it back. Philip dropped off my dress about a week and a half later, also another very pleasant person! 

You are able to pay online which is so convenient! Once my dress was dropped off I received my invoice via email and was able to pay with credit card. Esmeralda provided excellent customer service and even followed up with me to make sure I was a satisfied customer.

Look, sometimes you got to spend to look good. Could I have gotten my suits tailored for much cheaper? Yeah probably. Would it look as good? maybe, maybe not.  But I got to say, the service is impeccable, the results are amazing, and hey fancy free hangers and garment bag! 

Honestly though, what's awesome is that Esmeralda will come to your place, get you pinned up properly, then drop off the freshly tailored clothing back at your home. She did a really great job, and my cheap ass Amazon suits look like they were custom made for me because they fit so well. Sure, I spent more on the tailoring that I did on the suits, but honestly, if good tailoring makes me look this expensive, then I'm all for it.  

Highly recommend because she did a fantastic job - My suits fit perfectly now, my suit jackets make me look so freaking sleek, which is a huge deal because usually I look like a potato. In short, thumbs up, would get tailored again.  Thanks Esmeralda!
